  3 Hour Car Clean
Posted by: dutton84 - 10:th-Jun-2015, 19:36:50 - Forum: Detailing - Replies (2)

Did this over 2 days, had to get loads of little white specs off 3/4 of the car. It was a nightmare! Used nearly all my detailer spray with the clay mitt. [Image: 46be0fbb5a29f8f60d6fef7625493f0a.jpg]

Had a few days rest after that. Ha. Then finished cleaning it today.

  Bournemouth air show meet
Posted by: Rusty2009 - 9:th-Jun-2015, 22:12:38 - Forum: Club meets South - No Replies

Would anybody be interested in a club meet at Bournemouth to coincide with the FREE Bournemouth Airshow?

I would need to speak with the local council as it will be very busy and they shut a lot of roads off.

The air show is on 20-23 August.

If interested pop your name below.

What gearbox oil ? 1.7 cdti
Posted by: emanuel22 - 9:th-Jun-2015, 21:17:31 - Forum: Request for information - Replies (2)

Hi guys I got the astra 1.7 cdti as you prob all know the gear box is crap lol,I have read up on changing the gear box oil ... Most people say that the vaux one is shot they basically use the same for power steering ... I was thinking of using thishttp://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=181494589911&alt=web
it states that it is ok for a 1.7 cdti but I want to be sure before I buy it ... My friend has the m32 box in his corsa and he put this oil in it and he said it feels a lot smoother
 Hope you can help
thanks Tom

  FK AK Street Coilovers
Posted by: Tonto - 9:th-Jun-2015, 20:26:18 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (10)

Are these Coilovers decent? I've been looking at Eibach lowering springs but these aren't too much more expensive and would be the better option right? Anyone have any idea please?.

Invisible parking sensors fitted. Pics and vid.
Posted by: Jj0063 - 9:th-Jun-2015, 20:04:21 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (10)

So today my 'invisible' parking sensors arrived & I got straight to work when I got home tonight. Thanks to the how to on here it was so simple.

[Image: 52DE69DD-A7E0-47CF-9C18-884B701C5B7B_zpsxconxe8a.jpg]

So the great thing about these is that they're invisible, no drilling, so easy to fit and easy to remove if they stop working or you want to remove them. Its a case of wiring the same as the how to, then cleaning the back of the bumper, sticking the sensor strip on and connecting the spade connector to the loom it comes with.

They are great, and a bargain too at £10.99

Here's a vid, they obviously work better with a wall behind the car rather than my legs!

  Club Meet
Posted by: Tonto - 8:th-Jun-2015, 23:35:48 - Forum: Club meets all Regions - Replies (15)

I've been looking through some older posts about meets and a lot of our members seem to be based down south, well south to me ha. I'd love to suggest a meet around Yorkshire as its close to me but I gather that would be a canny distance for some people. So as I saw in one post was a meet at the Santa Pod strip on a RWYB day. This could easily be doubled up as a odd jobs day as well if people wanted. I'm assuming we wouldn't have trouble from officials if we done things where we parked if not disturbing anyone else.

So how does Saturday 15th August 2015 sound? http://www.rwyb.co.uk/index.php

It's £10 admission and £25 to sign on to race.

If anyone is interested please post and let us know as soon as possible.
It is 225 miles each way for me so hopefully a lot will turn out as I'm still to meet everyone in person.

Alternatively I've seen the odd jobs meet in Leeds, if anyone is up for that, that would be perfect too. If we go for this option we will sort a place to meet where we won't be a nuisance to anyone and can get all cars parked nicely. Personally this option would be best for me but I'd still love the RWYB day out too.

  Fitting visible exhaust tip
Posted by: Jj0063 - 8:th-Jun-2015, 21:29:24 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (33)

Hi all

I'm SURE I saw a post on how to fit a visible exhaust tip to the J by just cutting the splitter & bolting an eBay tip on.

May have been @tucpal ?

I can't remember if you need to angle grind the downturn off or not, I'm hoping I can do it without welding as I have everything but a welder!

If there's no how to, can anyone help with what needs to be done?

Cheers
Jordan
