Can I just disconnect the battery for a refresh of the system or does it come with complications..... Radio codes... Central locking etcc

No the radio is VIN locked to the BCM you will lose all your settings etc.

Pull the negative for 60+ mins to allow all systems to fully shut down.

So just disconnect negative and I will not lose anything?

your only lose your radio station, time date and car settings (which set per key or driver).

OK the only reason I'm doing it is my EGT sensor is reading 0 degrees on opcom even after a long drive?
Also what do you mean by car settings?
