My driver's door makes a loud clonk when I open it and I've been told the check strap needs replacing. Is this an easy job? I can only find guides for other models where the door card has to come off, is that needed for the Astra?

Yes the door card needs to come off then remove speaker.

replaced mine with front ones from a astra k, lot thicker plastic

I also have a question; can I use Astra J or K check straps on my GTC or are they specific?
