Cracked tyre valve with TPMS
#1
Hi all

I went to put air in my tyres today and noticed that the metal valve is cracked on one of my wheels and therefore I am unable to put air in. Is this a cheap tyre shop job or will the whole sensor need replacing?

Thanks very much

I would say a whole new sensor but forget buying cheap ones off ebay unless they are 100% genuine.

I got one from Vauxhall about 6 months ago and I was £45 I fitted it myself and then it had to be reprogrammed in the car.

It depends which type you have as there are two systems one is auto learn, the other is manual learn.

Manual learn needs the tool to wake them up, also the tool is needed if you move the sensors around.

Auto learn you don't need the tool it will wake up after a little time and you can also move them around freely.

Manual learn came in around 2014 so 14-64 plates on-wards would more likely be fitted with this system

Hi everyone. I bought the valve from eBay for £7 and Kwik fit fitted it for free
