Just a query, but is it possible to retrofit an SCR system into a diesel car?

I would so not possible but anything is possible with enough time and money.

so, reading between the lines, no cost effective after market solution?

Shame, cos would help with emission control, if messing about with other parts.
system in my old pug was under the spare wheel. as ive a huge gapping hole where my spare should be in the astra, thought it might be possible to strip a system out a scrapped pug or similar, and feed it in.

ive got time. just need to find someone with the money lol

Not that I'm aware of no, I think it's something not worth it you have a DPF.
