Reversing camera help

So I'm adding In a cheap Chinese reversing camera.
I'm using a relay to bring on the camera I'm sorted with how I'm going to wire it, just one thing stumped me.

I expected the green/white cable to still be in colour when it passed through to the boot lid.

I haven't had the roof lining off yet just wondered if anyone knew if there was a connection on the car side in the roof lining with the correct colour? And if there is where is it roughly? Or even is there a better place to find the green/white cable?

I know there's one right at the front to do the diming mirror as I've fitted that already.

P.s mine is a facelift model so no rear fuse unit.

You have one by the mirror 2 at the BCM also in the rear where the rear fuse-board would be is the wires running to the back I always hook into it there.

Quite why you want to add a relay I don't know as it will only become live once you engage reverse gear so IMHO your just complicating it for yourself.

I's not because you have face-lift that you have no rear fuse board.

Cheers for that rusty.

I was under the impression the bulb check would flag up an issue if the camera was connected to the bulb supply?

In the genuine camera fitting instructions on an estate the feed comes direct from the reverse bulb, I fitted one for somebody recently who had no rear fuse board and there were no errors it also worked like a charm

Well everyday is a school day, I'm sure I saw a how to who used a relay and with the bulb check I didn't fancy the risk.

I suppose I could always just wire it to the supply and see if I get any errors and if I do ive already got the relay mostly in to swap to.

No I've never had any error doing it.

Only time you get an error on the reverse light is if you put an LED bulb in and even then it's only held in the BCM it doesn't come up on the dash.
