2014 Astra 2.0L 165 HP F40 gearbox quantity of oil?? - Kpal11 - 31:st-Dec-2019

  • Hi all,
I have searched around on so many forums now and unable to find a definitive answer as I have heard rumours of vauxhall overfilling the F40 gearbox so I have heard it holds 2.4L, 2.6L, 1.9L, I dont have a clue how much is in thereor whether should be putting in less than what I get out because that what I have seen on a few forums. Would really appreciate some guidance on this!! All I do know is I will be using Redline 75W-85 GL04 oil for it... but how much of it??? ??

Thanks for the help!

Vauxhall normally have a drain and fill bung so you used to drain the oil put the bung back in and refill through the fill bung until it starts to dribble out. Don't know if that has changed though for F40 box

F40 drain from the bottom fill from the top.

I've not heard of anyone complaint about the F40 box being overfilled under filled. Yes plenty of complaints about the M32 being overfilled and under filled.

In terms of the way to go drain out into a measuring jug and refill with the same amount that has come out. You will not get all of it out so this would save you over filling it.
It's how mine was done not had any issues.

Ah just read this lol, did it about 3 or 4 days ago... got out 1.7L and filled up with 1.9L..
Reckon that'll be problematic? could always use a little hand pump to siphon 200ml out

Thanks for the advice
