wheel rims - Qaranc - 28:th-Feb-2019

Have got a set of 205/55/r16 snow tyres and i want to put them on my 14 astra elite what rim size do i need to look for. thanks

r16 means the tyres are 16" in diameter, so you'll need 16" wheels.

does it matter which 16 rims as they are on vectra alloy rims at the moment

Depends which braking system you have. J60 or J67.

I think the 1.4 has J67 braking system, so you'll need the wheels for that.

205/55/r16 is the wrong size for 16" Astra wheels though. They should be 205/60R16, so with a reduced side wall profile the speedo will over-read slightly. There are also insurance implications to consider as well, having the wrong sized tyres fitted.

The following info is copied from another site.

For Astra J 5-door hatchback, Sports Tourer and 4-door notchback with 1.4, 1.6, 1.4T and 1.3CDTi engines (J67 braking system):
PCD 5x105 (distance between neighbouring bolts is 61.7mm), centre bore 56.6mm
16" wheels: 6½J x 16 offset 39, tyre 205/60R16
