Bluetooth Retro fit - wrobsongtc - 4:th-Jun-2018

Been looking at Bluetooth retro fits/headunit upgrade.

my main concern is the maintain of the vehicle settings, the retro fit would be £250 and allow a2dp but be like factory fit, an android auto head unit would be more once I factor in a connects2 facia and wiring harness.

question is has anyone upgraded the head unit replacing the CD400 with a double din radio w/touch screen and maintained the use of the vehicle settings (lights on from unlock, chime volume etc)?

alternatively, would I be able to get a second hand bluetooth module from ebay and install it or is it not as simple as that?

Thanks,

Will

To retrofit Bluetooth is not too difficult but you need a loom, module, bracket and microphone . The loom has to be made. Then the head unit needs programming to accept the Bluetooth module. Sometimes vci codes are needed other times it can be worked around.

Hi mate the Android unit from Icebox is available for around £330. You will maintain all of your lights on, chimes etc, gain Bluetooth, sat nav DVD player. You would lose factory DAB if you have it but aftermarket ones are available. You won’t need any extra wiring harness or facia as it replaces the graphic display.
Hope this helps? Check out my thread for some pictures of my Android unit
