...........USB RETRO FIT FOR THE CD 400......

Yes This can and has been Done but Again this is a Very Hard one to Follow and to Do
And this really is a big job you will be removing everything to do this one
your best bet is to get this Done by Someone who knows How Too
Rusty2009 or Vxmods on Here can Supply and Fit the USB for the Factory Retro Fit
But it is Expensive for what it is
Programming and VCI Codes will also be Needed.

Here is the USB and AUX Sockets on the Storage Tray

The USB module is located just to the right and above the accelerator pedal
And is held in place by a bracket and one screw.

Here is a Link too the USB Kit Needed and A How To Fit it Guide
but i do Believe that Two Wires are Wrong in this Guide
It has Something to do with the Audio.

USB Part Number, 13397904.

For this Option The USB Retro fit
I think Money would be Better Spent on an After Market Head Unit,
with USB and Bluetooth, SAT NAV, ETC Combined.

BUT YES IT CAN AND HAS BE DONE...

Model year from 2013 (13 plate) that has cd400 will not support
any factory retrofits unless the radio has an ident of - UZZ

if usb is already fitted then the radio will support the aditional
Retrofits provididing the radio again is ident- UZZ

USB factory retro fit - Lewis6317 - 1:st-Mar-2014

13397904
13397905
13437049
is that for all the kit?

USB factory retro fit - tucpal - 1:st-Mar-2014

i believe so
i know Andy from VXmods has done this
and knows were get the kits etc
as i have not done this he will be the best one to talk to

USB factory retro fit - vxmods - 2:nd-Mar-2014

yep the kit p/no 13397904

thats all is needed but this is not a plug n play kit as
ppl make out, it still has to be configured via a vci
code.

oh and the wiring you get in the kit is wrong to the
instructions and has to be altered.

USB factory retro fit - mickael1711 - 23:rd-Feb-2015

for models before 2012 we also need VCI code?

USB factory retro fit - tucpal - 23:rd-Feb-2015

my 2011 has not needed any yet but others have as i know the VCI was introduced sometime in 2011
but the car still needs activating with a MDI, were are you from

USB factory retro fit - Rusty2009 - 24:th-Feb-2015

As far as I know anything audio side doesn't need a VCI up to 2012 but for other retrofits VCI'S will be needed.

USB factory retro fit - vxmods - 24:th-Feb-2015

Most retrofits will require vci code regardless what year the
Car is but also depends how the configuration had been setup
at time of build, usb retrofit definately requires a vci code
As all previous ones ive fitted did require a vci code.

Model year from 2013 (13 plate) that has cd400 will not support
any factory retrofits unless the radio has an ident of - UZZ

USB factory retro fit - vxmods - 24:th-Feb-2015

Noooooi believe me ive done so many retro fits on lots
Of the models prior 2012 and most of them needed vci
codes especially the usb retro fit.

But also There has also been many that didnt need vci
codes so it does cone down to how the cars been
configured at time of build.

If you havent got any factory options like bluetooth, usb, dab then
id say your Cd400 wont support any of them.

RE: USB factory retro fit - Imrana170 - 13:th-Jan-2018

Just a quick question I have one of the Android aftermarket head units, it comes with USB and AUX support. However my Astra J doesn’t come with a USB slot, is there a way to order the tray with the USB slot and just basically plug and play? At the moment the USB wires pushed through into the glovebox.

RE: USB factory retro fit - Rusty2009 - 13:th-Jan-2018

Yes you can order the tray for under £10 from a dealership & the USB is abit more expensive.

RE: USB factory retro fit - stigeye - 13:th-Jan-2018

You can run the usb cable under the bubby hole tray and up through the edge and out into the cubby hole, I did it this way for a dab adaptor in our last 5dr J.

I got my usb/power/auxin tray off ebay for a tenner. Funny thing is, think I have used the usb slot once in 2 years. The SD card slot on the Android works better with the default music player.
