Prestige Keep Moving Car Insurance Scheme
Posted by: Tim@Prestige - 2:nd-Feb-2015, 11:30:35 - Forum: Prestige - Replies (26)

As approved by Russell.

WE VIEW YOU AS A BETTER DRIVER MEANING WE CAN OFFER CHEAPER PREMIUMS!

- €œJust sorted out my policy with these guys. Think they were the most helpful insurance company I have ever spoke to and would recommend them to anyone before any other company. Glad I could join these even left my existing policy 6 months into it. So thank you Prestige.” Mr J, Flintshire
- €œSaved me £230 very happy...service was excellent.” K.Spicer

The administrators have linked up with the Prestige Keep Moving Car Insurance Scheme – http://www.prestigekeepmoving.com – for their specialist car insurance scheme for car club users.

· You are entitled to a FREE MOT worth up to £54.85 at any Halfords Autocentre when you renew your car insurance with us.
· There are very few exclusions on the scheme! It starts at age 21, has a minimum premium of £300, and includes all postcodes (apart from Northern Ireland), and all modifications (except nitrous & roll cages). If you wish to insure a ‘performance’ vehicle on our scheme, then you must have at least a years experience of driving that or similar bhp car.

The main reason we can offer this scheme to you is because members of car enthusiast groups are viewed as better drivers which allows us to offer cheaper premiums.

Please call us on 0800 3308057 (or 0333 4001580 for mobiles as it can be included in any free minutes’). We are open Monday-Friday 9am-8pm and Saturdays 9am-4pm and please don't forget to mention this club when ringing so you can see the benefit.

Please also join our Facebook Group - http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/clubsinsurance

Kind regards

Hi everyone my first ever post, I wanted to know if I can swap xenon headlamps over from halogen, I don't want to go through the hassle of afl system. I just want xenon lights. Will it be possible? Thanks

Website to monitor fuel usage/ mpg
Posted by: grahamfromoldham - 30:th-Jan-2015, 21:45:28 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (2)

I have just posted this in a posting on the forum but thought it might be useful to stick it here too:

A year or so ago, a friend introduced me to http://www.fuelly.com which is free to join. It tracks your mpg to put it simple. Basically when you fill up, on your receipt will be how much you spent, price per litre and how many litres you filled up with. Each time you fill up, reset your trip meter and go to the fuelly website with how much you filled up with etc and it works out your fuel usage. I have a 2010 Astra 1.7cdti Elite and my average mpg according to fuelly (it averages your mpg from all the details you enter over each time) I am getting 47 mpg.
My best mpg has been 53 mpg
I have filled up 41 times
Total miles tracked 14,765
Cost per mile £0.127.

Tip - When you enter a fuel up, do not tick the 'This is a partial fuel up' box at the bottom as this affects the graph that plots your fill ups over the year.

You can also browse other Fuelly users vehicles to see what mpg others are achieving

Brakes questions - squeaking noise, rust, quality.
Posted by: Dman86 - 27:th-Jan-2015, 14:30:04 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Common Problems - Replies (6)

Hello guys,

Did a 60,000 KM service exactly one month ago.
I changed the front and rear pads + the rear discs, along with other things.

The car brakes fine, but there's a really annoying squeaking noise.
I called the garage and they said that there shouldn't be any squeaking noise at all, even if the discs and pads aren't original.
I'm gonna go there next week, but I wanted to check with you guys first.

1) Is squeaking normal with brand new discs and pads?

2) I have a lot of dust on my alloys, is it related to the quality of the pads?

3) I also have a lot of rust..or yellowish stuff on the rear discs - How normal is that? I saw more then a few cars with polished, silver, out of the box looking discs..nothing like mine. Is there a way to avoid it? Or is it quality related as well?

4) If I would to improve my "braking ability" - Is there a recommended discs/pads company out there in the market? (fitting an Astra J obviously). I heard of REMSA & LUCAS, but I know nothing about them. (Just for the sake of knowledge - Money is no object).

Thanks a lot in advance,

Posted by: JJ-Yorks - 26:th-Jan-2015, 21:13:14 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (6)

just been running kids around tonight and when daughter got in car and I went to start car the yellow light on the dash with the car and lock through it flashed and car wouldn't start...removed key and tried again and started no problem...I know this is the immobilizer but is it doing this because the battery in the key needs changing or is it something completely different??
