How to Upgrade The NAVI,600 to the NAVI,900.

WARNING......
THIS IS A SOFTWARE UPGRADE HACK FOR THE NAVI 600
AND I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ISSUES THAT MAY ARISE FROM YOU DOING THIS
THIS IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK...FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER..

OK this will Work with the NAVI 600 you will be Downloading and Burning Files
And This will Then Upgrade the NAVI 600 to a NAVI 900.

First of all i would like to say this was all worked out on the Insignia Forum PL so all Credit goes to Them.

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.

This How to Has Been Done and is Here on VXOC just for are Translation Issues and to Help us Here in the UK
It has Been Tried and Tested on Many NAVI 600 Units on the Insignia, Astra J and Chevrolet, Mokka, and Corsa D, Models that have the NAV 600
So More info can be Found on other Forums as Every Forum Has There own Version and Information as well as This Forum Now Has.

This will Upgrade the NAV600 to NAVI 900 Functional with 3D MAPS Heads up View and Speed Camera POI ALERTS.
You also have the Option Later to Change the Theme from Blue to Red ETC
With other New Updates.

The Only Downside is that you lose the Voice Commands Function on the NAV
But your Bluetooth will still Work but Now you have to Press the Phone Button
on the Navi Console First and then the Steering Wheel Button
Before you make a Call but it Does not Seem to Bad at all.

The Upgrade will wipe all the Settings on the NAVI including the Phone Settings, Address Book, and NAVI Directory
So First Either write them Down or Back them up
Also it is Recommended to Remove any Picture Frame Images you have Saved to the Navi
And any Poi,s you have Imported Before Doing this Install.

..REMEMBER THIS IS A HACK SOFTWARE...

This is the Most Popular way to Do The Upgrade.

..........................................................................................................................................................................

NAVI 600 NAVI 900 UPDATE Download.

GET AN EMPTY USB STICK 8GB ( FORMATTED TO FAT32 )
AND A BLANK CD-R 700MB DISC....not a DVD DISC.

DOWNLOAD THESE TWO FILES
And Save them to your Downloads on Your PC.

new link..........You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.....CDR DISC..

new link..................You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view......USB STICK..

.......Added a backup on our own server You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view..............

....CDR..DISC...FORMAT....

OPEN THE, NAVI 600 900 RUS FIX.RAR., FILES AND BURN THE DNL ISO FILES IMAGE TO A CD-R or CD-RW DISC not a DVD Disc
USE A GOOD QUALITY DISC LIKE VERBATIM CDR 52X 700MB OR WHATEVER YOUR ARE USE TO
AND COPY THE FIRMWARE IMAGE OF THE ZIP FILE DNL TO THE CDR DISC
USING A BURNER SET IT AT AS LOW A SPEED AS POSSIBLE X1 IS GOOD BUT UNDER X4 SEEMS FINE
THIS WILL HELP TO BURN THE DNL FILE Image AS IT WILL NOW COPY BETTER TO THE CDR AND UPLOAD CORRECTLY TO THE NAVI.
ALSO WINDOWS 7 BURNER WORKS WELL ON A LOW SPEED
BUT WITH THIS WINDOWS 10 NOT SO GOOD
OLDER WINDOWS WORKS BETTER FOR THIS OR USE WINZIP AND ANOTHER BURNER PROGRAM FOR WINDOWS 10
BURNER LINKS LOWER DOWN THE THREAD.

...........................................................................................................................................................................

......................USB FORMAT...............................

THEN GET A BLANK USB STICK
FORMATED TO FAT32 AND UNZIP THE FILE, MIGRATE-600 TO 900 ZIP, File AND COPY DNL ISO FILE
TO THE USB STICK DRIVE.

................HOW TO....................

WHEN THAT IS DONE TURN THE NAVI 600 ON
AND INSTALL THE USB STICK
IT WILL THEN SAY INSTALL UPDATES
AT THIS POINT REMOVE THE NAV 600 SD MAPS CARD
AND LEAVE THE USB IN PLACE
AND THEN FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE SCREEN
THIS MAY FAIL AT 80% OR LESS
BUT THIS IS TO BE EXPECTED WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL
THIS IS NORMAL TO FAIL AT THIS POINT.

IT WILL THEN ASK YOU TO REBOOT
REMOVE THE USB STICK
YOU WILL NOW BE IN THE BOOTLOADER 5 SCREEN.

INSTALL THE CDR DISK IN BOOTLOADER 5 MODE AND REBOOT BY PRESSING THE EJECT BUTTON
THE DISC MAY HAVE TO BE PUT IN A FEW TIMES TO MAKE IT FLASH
IF THE DISC IS NOT COPIED CORRECTLY IT WILL NOT FLASH TO THE NAVI
DON'T PANIC THE CAR CAN BE TURNED ON AND OFF AND EVEN USED IN THIS MODE
TILL YOU COPY THE DISC CORRECTLY YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS
BUT THE NAV MAY STAY ON OR TURN ON BY ITSELF IF THE CARS IS LEFT ALONE.
WHEN YOU HAVE THE CORRECTLY COPIED THE DISC JUST INSERT IT INTO THE NAVI
AND REBOOT BY PRESSING THE EJECT BUTTON
IT WILL THEN FLASH OFF THE INFO FROM THE DISC TO THE NAV
THIS TAKES TIME DO NOT INTERFERE TILL THIS IS COMPLETED
WHEN IT IS DONE CONFIRM INSTALL AND WAIT TILL THIS IS COMPLETED.

IT WILL THEN SAY REBOOT
WHEN IT HAS COMPLETED COPYING AND READING THE DISC
NEXT REMOVE THE CDR DISC FROM THE NAVI.

INSERT THE NAV600 SD MAP CARD BACK INTO THE CAR
AND START THE SAT NAV IT WILL THEN REBOOT
AND FOLLOW THE ON SCREEN INSTRUCTIONS
IT WILL THEN UPDATE THE SD MAP UPDATES FROM THE SD NAVI 600 MAPS CARD
AFTER THAT HAS COMPLETED THEN TURN THE NAV ON AND OFF.

AND THEN REINSERT THE USB STICK
WHEN THE INSTALL SCREEN COMES ON THE NAVI REMOVE THE NAVI 600 SD MAP CARD
LEAVING THE USB STICK IN PLACE
AND THEN FOLLOW THE ON SCREEN INSTRUCTIONS AND THIS TIME IT WILL INSTALL TILL 100% CORRECTLY.

WHEN COMPLETED REMOVE THE USB STICK AND REBOOT THE NAVI
THEN INSTALL THE NAVI 600 SD MAP CARD AND TURN THE NAVI OFF AND ON
THE UPDATE IS NOW COMPLETE.

YOU NOW HAVE A NAVI 600 WITH NAVI 900 FUNCTIONALITY
AND 3D MAPS AND POI WARNINGS ALERTS
GO TO NAVI SETTINGS AND SELECT 3D MAPS
AND ENJOY.

THE NEXT STEP IS TO GO TO THE SPEED CAMERA POI UPDATE SECTION.

DURING ANY UPLOAD PROCEDURE TO THE NAVI DO NOT TURN THE NAVI OFF
OR INTERFERE WITH THE PROCESS DO NOT REMOVE THE USB OR DISC TILL YOU ARE TOLD TO
DO NOT INTERFERE IN ANY WAY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER AND BE PATIENT .
There is a Link at the Bottom That can Provide all the Links and Info on How to Download Etc
For a Fee but the links are Here and they are the same ones
But this may Help you Out if you are Unsure.

They are for Burning a CD-R Disc Etc. And can be Used at a Low Speed X1 X4 Recording for the NAV600 900 RUS FIX.RAR. FILES
But a Nero Burning Program is Recommended here.

Change Theme Display color

You can also Change the NAVI Theme Color from Blue to Red etc after the NAVI 900 Upgrade has been done
And Many More Theme Options are out there and even Custom Options if you are brave enuff
Please See post 35 in this thread for the how to

and theme options and editing see this thread

............................................................................................................................................................

.....Please read this.....

Remove any poi,s before doing an updated or new theme.

If you are doing a theme update and have upgraded the nav SD card to a newer version
than you used for the original nav 600/900 update
then you must remove the newer SD card
and then reinstall the SD card you first used before doing any new theme update etc
after the theme update has been done and the system has rebooted
then you can put your newer SD card back in and it will update the card again
then put any POI,S back on.

Anyone who has a nav 900 SD card will need a theme that runs with v200 or v208
the card will bring up all the files for voice recognition on the nav, usb, etc
and the nav will speak to you but you still can not talk to it.

Pressing the phone button on the nav unit first before pressing the steering wheel button
is a normal function of a nav900 the same would apply if you wanted to talk to the nav usb etc on a nav900.

The original nav600/900 update is a v181 file
most themes are v200 when you update a theme in full it will become a v200 file
you can swap or copy and paste a image file say uli.14. uli.22. and uli.11. from another v200 theme
but do not try and copy and paste any other resbin.file or system file or font.uli etc from a v208 or v181 file into a v200
as mixing system files will brick the nav unit.
best thing to do is just alter the uli.image files only and do not attempt to alter any system files at all
the gm-respacker will not repack any system batch files ,resbin etc it will only pack the image.uli.files.

some v200 theme files have had there poi icons set up with speed icons 30, 40, 50, etc
these have been edited and will show on the nav map and pop up speed camera icon
and the poi list in the nav settings as 40mph symbol etc
this type of theme files are best avoided as they look crap
you can not edit the resbin. to remove these symbols from the nav map so there best avoided.

what you want is the v200 files that have the poi icons for the speedcams image
they look much better and have the starry night sky in the night theme sat nav
to check you have the correct ones before you upload it to the car
look in image.20.uli with the gm-res unpacker and check the images for the speedcam image
if it has the 30, 40, 50, 60, etc look for a different theme.

Do not try and add two night themes or two day themes to a v181 v200 v208 file
same with fonts you need to have night and day or the text color will vanish.

there are v208 files out there there the latest files but they're no different to the v200 files
the problem will come when say if you made a mistake on the update of a theme with v208
and you have already used v208 before and the nav unit goes into bootloader mode
then you need a v208 res disc to recover the nav unit like you did when you first installed the original v181 3d map update
if you were to add the v181 disc if your v208 usb did crash then it could brick the nav
so if you are using v208 then stick with the v208 files and only update the images.uli.1 to 24 and you should have no problems.

if you have v208 and uploaded a v200 or v181 theme in full to the nav unit you risk going into bootloader mode and risk brick without the v208 res disk.

If you are unsure about doing any editing or updating don't be afraid to ask on here
beware also there are bad links out there as well as good ones on the interweb so we only recommend
you use links to themes that have been proven to work again we hold no responsibility
for anything that goes wrong doing this type of update is purely at your own risk.

i don't suggest anyone downloads any links to there car till they talk to the insignia forum pl and the astra gtc forum in france about this
as it looks like they rewrite the image uli files theme in the nav 900 update dnl files and then reflash the car with a USB as i see it
so go and have a good talk about this with them you will need google translate
the links are here to make finding them easier for further reference.

..PLEASE READ ON FOR THE HOW TO THEME CHANGE...

I Have Now Done The Hack Update For the Theme Color Change on the NAVI 600/900
That Updates the Nav 600 900 Hack i did the Other Day.

I am Totally over the Moon with this One it is Perfectly Done.
I now have a Blue Day Theme Mode
And a Red Night Theme Mode
Even the blue theme looks better as it is now not so bright and a different shade of blue
And it also has lots of Revised Icons and symbols
Even the Sat Nav Display now has Stars in the 3d Background in night mode.
This is so much Better than the White and Blue that the Navi 600 Comes with as Standard
I Give all Credit to DanRaz as this is all his Hard Work Thank You.

.......HOW TO DO A THEME UPDATE........AFTER NAV 900 UPGRADE ONLY INFO.............

.....WARNING......
THIS IS A SOFTWARE UPGRADE HACK FOR THE NAVI 600
AND I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ISSUES THAT MAY ARISE FROM YOU DOING THIS
THIS IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK...FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER..

THIS MUST ONLY BE DONE AFTER YOU HAVE DONE THE NAVI 600.900 UPDATE FIRST
THIS WON'T WORK JUST ON A STANDARD NAVI 600 OR 900
THE UPGRADE IS NEEDED TO THE NAVI 600 FOR THE NAVI 900 FUNCTIONALITY
SEE TOP POST FOR UPGRADE INFO.

This How to Has Been Done and is Here on VXOC just for are Translation Issues and to Help us Here in the UK

...REMEMBER THIS IS A HACK SOFTWARE UPDATE...

This will Wipe all POI Setting and Saved Picture Frame Settings and Navi Address Book and Saved Locations
You will be Reflashing the Updated Navi 600/900 Again just like you Did in the last Part of the navi 600 900 Upgrade
With the USB Apart from this Time it will go to 100% no Problems the Disc is Not Needed for This Bit Just the USB
It is Recommended all Imported POI and Imported Picture Frames all Deleted from the Navi Before you Install the New Theme Update

First of all i Recommend joining and Reading the Posts and Threads on the Navi 600 900 Theme Change Upgrade
On These Two forums you will Need Google Translate And Gather as Much Info as Possible as There are Some Bad Links out There as well as good ones.
Here is some of the Options out there in this Thread but this How To will only Cover the Links to the Blue Day and Red Night Themes.

It is Also Possible for the Techie Minded to Rewrite and Edit your own Theme
This is done by Modifying the Original Navi 600 900 Download DNL Pack You Downloaded to do the Navi 600 900 Upgrade
Press the DNL File Till You get to System\adrit-mpu10 You will Then see a List of .ULI Image Codes
Image 22.ULI is for Day Theme and Image 11.ULI for Night Theme And image 14.ULI is Animations Logos
Extract them Using a GM UNPacker and then Saving to a Temp file and Editing the .ULI Codes
And then Using a GM Packer to put them Back into the Correct NAV 600 900 DNL File After Editing.

I Would Strongly Advise Anyone Doing this to Ask for Help And Advise with This as if You Get it Wrong you Are in Big Trouble.

.....Please read this.....

AS WITH ALL ELECTRICAL HOW TO,S
You do This at Your own Risk if you Follow the How to Correctly
There Should be no Problems Thank You.

i will add the links later on to the above post but the one i have will change both day and night
to red and blue they work really well baz you will be very happy
he has other links in there but you really should ask him what they are
as he has done several attempts at this and improved it every time
the one i have used is his current and final update and the one he suggests you use
you can even do it yourself and rewrite the ULI codes if you are brave
but i would not attempt it as any mistake can lead to total failure
but this works perfectly well i will get it done soon.

I was gonna do the new update but apparently I have the same version already on it. So I think I've got the navi 900 and whoever had it before me did the update. Only thing I can't see is the 3D map option. I only get north 2d and head up 2d

I just did all again and now I've got the 3D maps! Sorted

Right, I've done everything to the letter and I'm having difficulty with the speed cameras, I've got to navi 900, done the day and night themes, but it won't let me add speed cameras, or it does but it doesn't work.
In the link that's given where to download the speed camera POIs it gives one file, I can't see anything to do with a DNL attached to it. When you download it you get this file;
If you click into the myPOIs folder you get this;

If I put the myPOIs folder onto the usb stick the navi will use the POIs on it but it doesn't seem to include speed cameras, if I put the actual SpeedCamera.poi file on the usb then the navi doesn't recognise it.

After it's done I end up with this screen which looks nothing like the one in Tucpal's pictures;

Where is the DNL that is mentioned?

Update; I've got the speed cameras on, but the icons are different what You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. has. Have I done something wrong? I've got the ones that I've put in the picture

you have the speed cameras in general as the symbol is there
if you have done the red blue night theme they are different to standard ones
if you have the blue day theme on at the minute
so change to night mode to get the red display

also go to my poi announcements settings and set it to near

remember this is a custom theme change

Ah so after the day and night update they change to what I've got?

If that's the case then yeah I have it all working, the way it tells you a speed camera is coming is quite annoying, it pops up and you have to press the big button in the middle down to get rid of it and then it pops straight up again.

i just leave it and it will turn off after you pass the speed camera
you can turn it off in settings poi,s if you want
and turn it back on when you are somewhere unfamiliar
then it is priceless HA ha

glad you got it all working it is nice that red theme i still love it

the new speed camera symbols look like this after the theme update has been done
the pop up message will also now be transparent when it pops up
and that is a lot better than the standard solid color pop up.

[Image: WP_20151231_16_41_58_Pro_zpsszzhv6gx.jpg]

a few other symbols will be different on the poi menu
but they don't appear on the map.
it is just the way he set it up as they have mobile speed camera warning messages also in france
and speed limit road warnings
but we don't have that just the cameras

Yeah I love the red theme, I'm thinking of having it constantly on but its annoying on the sat nav as it has the stars which look out of place in the day. It's not transparent during day mode though which is unfortunate. Speed limit warnings would be great
